Dzen Tree Farm - Where Family Traditions are Made

Did you know...

  • Reindeer are native to Northern Europe and Asia
  • Reindeer were moved into Alaska in the 1980s to boost the economy
  • Reindeer are cousins to the Caribou
  • Reindeer are the only deer species in which both the male and female have antlers
  • Reindeer shed their antlers every year
  • Reindeer have hair that is air filled. Their hair is an excellent insulation, which makes them great swimmers and allows them to lay down in snow without melting it or getting wet
  • Reindeer do not have sweat glands, so they pant like dogs to lose body heat
  • Reindeer can run up to 35 mph
  • Reindeer like to eat willow (a small bush) and lichen (moss)
